Nude Makeup Look

I like Charmaine Sheh's makeup. I believed this will be the trend for makeup of Spring season in '2010. That is the nude makeup look! This makeup style is just like the theory of jeans fashion that will never be out dated so try wearing it. This can be the safest type of makeup you ever want to try in various occasions.

See... she has flawless face, tidy eye browns with little eye makeup. Good to apply moderate mascara. A fresh kind of light orange color blusher and minimum lipstick color to complete the makeup look.

Cool !

Let's see Travia Yeung's nude look. I like her makeup since it looks fresh and natural. With minimum color you actually look much "younger". Very sweet.

There are a couple of things that you need to take note when applying this type of makeup:

- Avoid too much eye makeup color. Always choose very light colors or pastel colors. Tones like yellow, brown, white or pink are pretty safe. Keep to one color for eye base and one for highlight. Don't use more than 2 eyeshadow colors.

- Make sure you have good coverage or foundation for your entire face. This helps to create the flawless look and the emphasis on NUDE. Do not apply to thick. If you have excellent skin or complexion try using BB cream or tinted moisturiser.

- No heavy blusher. Choose light pink or light orange. Always blend well. If you want healthier look, create the rosy cheek style.

- For lipsticks, you can either apply matte or glossy texture but do not go for bright colors like red or plum. Use very light brown or orange or even nude color lipsticks to match.

How to choose an eye mascara

1- Sana, Extra Large Mascara (top, left)
2- Lancome, Oscillation water resistance vibrating power mascara (top, right)
3- Mabelline, volum' express cat eyes mascara waterproof

Eye makeup can be a big challenge for most women. Including myself, as there are always so many things to consider here.

Starting from our eye browns, we ought to take care the color tone and the shape of it vs the shape of our face. Next, we must have a good concealer under our eyes or an excellent powder/ foundation before we apply our eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara.

We can never neglect the choice and the texture eyeshadow cosmetic including the color of our eye shadows, eyeliner and eye mascara that we choose.

The basic mascara colors are: black, dark brown, light brown or even red and blue. It is always safest to stay in the color range of black to dark brown. This will probably suit all occasions.

Always clamp your eyelash before applying your eye mascara. This must be done starting from those eyelashes that are from the inner lids then repeat this to the outer. Apply mascara in a zig zag manner to enhance the curl. Mascara could be applied up to at least 2-3 coats to give the thicker and fuller looks. Please wait for the first coat to dry up before the start of the second coat. Try to go for those mascara that comes with the curved brush.

If you have super oily eyelids like me, go for water proof mascara so that it never smudge. If you have sensitive eyes, try not to rub your eyes after you apply those eyeshadow cosmetics. Go for mineral makeup instead.

Above are a few brands of eye mascara that I would suggest you to try. Good luck.

The power eyeshadow cosmetics- Beyond the Realm of Conscience (TVB)

Are you ever crazy or attracted over the eyeshadow colors or the choice of the artist's makeup color shade on TV?

Recently, i've been catching this HK TV serial from TVB: Beyond the Realm of Conscience and would like to comment about their makeup, especially the skill of how they apply eyeshadow, the choice of eyeshadow colors and their entire makeover.

Though it is not a modern show, it gives great insights on how they choose and create the innocent looking eyes on the chosen eyeshadow color shade vs the evil (or scheming) looking eyes.

Take Tavia Yeung as an example. Her innocent look with very mild application and minimum eyeshadow color used. Little color shade over her eyes. Thin eye lining and mascara applied. Usually light pink or brown eyeshadow colors are used. They gave her slight blusher in pink over her cheeks and always keep the lipstick natural with pale pink or very light orange.

To contrast, let's see the choice of her eyeshadow color in that evil look.

Very dark black liner are used. Normally, it is drawn much darker and intense. Look it is extended to the corner of her eyes in an angular shape.

Lighter black tone of the eyeshadow color is then applied above the eyelids that is to be extended out slightly above the eyes corner. The bottom eyelids are also drawn darker.

Lipstick will dark red or pink and cheek color will be applied heavier than usual to enhance her cunning image.

My favourite eyelash curler from Shu Uemura

Are you blessed with long, black and thick eye lashes? Eye lashes plays a very important role in creating a beauty eyeshadow makeup. Why? Because it helps to open your eyes bigger making it extra attractive and full of "energy".

For Asians, particularly- Chinese, we are not that lucky. We either have short eye lashes or fine eye lashes or long eye lashes that are not too straight or some worst some ladies may suffer from no eyelashes.

To create a more attractive eye lashes look. It is curial to use the right tool for it. My favourite eyelash curler - Shu Uemura (from Japan).

It is reliable for it has followed me for at least 3-5 years. I would prefer this traditional way of curling the eye lashes rather than using heated eye lash curler or eye lash perming.

After using Shu Uemura eye lash curler, your eye lashes stay curly for quite a long while. Remember, this approach is without heat or chemical. The hander gives good grip and is easy to clamp. All you have to do is to make sure is that your eye lashes are properly secured inside the clamp before you pressed on it. Start from the eye lashes that are closes to the eye lids and count to 3sec and release. Next, repeat and move to the middle portion and finally the eye lashes that are furthest away from the eyelids.

To finish the look, apply eye lash mascara over it.

I've also found some other attractive eye lash curler. They are targeted for small portion of the eye lash like corner or sectional type. Interesting !

Elain- Glitter Eyeshadow Makeup

This glitter eyeshadow product is from Korea. It is selling at S$18.00 exclusive to Stardust at JohnLittle (in Marina Square).

There are 10 range of eyeshadow color offerings: purple, cyan, black, green, brown, yellow, blue, white. Personally, i like the purple. It's so sweet. :)

It is definitely a kind of metallic and shimmer eyeshadow.

The texture of this eyeshadow powder can be a little "heavy" immediately after you apply them onto your eyelids. The key note here of this eyeshadow apply is to always remember to blend it well, evenly and neatly.
Your finger tips are a good tool or if not at least use a disposable cotton bud for that. :)
