Do you use a hair band, hair net or a hair clip to keep your fringe in place when applying your makeup or eye shadow or during your facial procedure or when doing serious work?

Yo, I found this interesting product from City Square Mall this afternoon. That's the fringe sticky pad. It helps to hold short or long hair fringe in place. Very neat and especially good for those with reborned straight hair since it will not cause any ugly mark or wavy appearance on your hair like those that are usually caused by the hair clip or hair band.

It has some sort like velcro backing that helps to stick hair in place. Just get 2 pieces if you have long fringe that you need to secure them one at each side.

Easily avaliable from SuperWoman shop at level 03-14. Retail price at S$2.90/pc. I've choose this red color Bow Hair design as i find it very cute. It comes in 3 colors: black, red and pink.

Welcome to the Spring Color Makeup for 2010

Bobby Brown has launched a new range of spring color strips this Spring' 2010. They have put together and design a makeup palette including eye shadows and rouge colors (for both cheek and lips) - this season.

You can design your own cosmetic palette. Bobby Brown has an empty color strips palette case available for you to mix and match your makeup palette. The case allows you to pick one options from the four eyeshadow strips and one out of two pot rouge strips (for both cheek and lips). There is also a mini eyeshadow and lip brush that comes together with it.

The top 4 rows are Bobby Brown's eyeshadow strips. Color: Petal, Orchid, Aquamarine and Bonfire (from top to bottom) The bottom two rows are the rouge strips: Fresh Coral Pot and Fresh Pink (from top to bottom).

The eyeshadow colors on their strips that are very natural and easy to wear. It is suitable for both office and casual occasions dependent on how you mix and match them together. There is always a lighter shade either pearl, white or light yellow in one palette which you can choose as highlighter on your brow bone. You can then pick one or two colors out the palette to match your needs.

How to apply white eyeliner

Have you tried creating a white look over your eye lids or wearing a white eyeliner since this color that is not really well accepted by the majority of us as a common eyeliner color?

Though white eyeliner seems not to be too profressional but it is definately a good cosemtic eyeliner color that you can choose to brighten up your eyes.

It helps to stand out your eyes and widen up your eyes.

You can apply it just on your bottom eyelids or just at the corner of your eyes.

To give a more girly look, try adding slight pearly glittering at the corner or the lower eyelids. You may try using ETUDE glitter powder.

Other ways of wearing it white beautiful eyeliner to use it as a base under your eyeshadow. Remember to blend it well and take note the kind of texture on both your eyeliner and eyeshadow. Or you can even use the white eyeliner pencil as an eyeshadow itself.

Excellent Eye Primmer- Laura Mercier Eye Basics

Ever have difficulties finding an excellent eye primmer that suits your skin tone or long lasting that never turns "cakey"?

Jordan and Cherrie is happily married this Valentine's day in a Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Congratz!

I like the wedding gown that Cherrie is wearing. I heard it was from Vera Wang. This low cut sexy outfit brings out her long length and slim body. The length of this gown is designed at knee length and it is never too long and clumsy like someother gowns and are just prefect on this young looking bride. So youthful but yet elegant on her on this big day.

Her makeup and hairdo is also very natural and simple. It is never too heavy or overdo. Guess this is the trend of modern bridal makeup looks. The size of the small little red handheld flower bouquet fits their wedding image. Cool !

Personally, i don't really like the red color hair dye from Jordan Chan. It should have stick to a clean cool cut to have the serious and mature look from a wedding. Because one could not forget the kind of crazy characters that he has ever acted in his movies.

Valentine Makeup

I always like the month of February because it is a short month and it is extremely good for the salaried staff since they can get their pay check earlier than normal months. ;) Not bad, huh.

Besides that, usually we will have Chinese Lunar New Year that will also coincide within this month which means we have public holidays to rest without the need to report to work. HaHa.

Look at her soft sweet lips lilacs (lavender) color. You can coupled that with smoky pink/ brown or plum eyeshadow. For blusher, you may cool pink cheek color. Or if not, try the pearlescent kind of effects for the applications on eyelids or cheekbones like below. I like this shimmery look.

I like smoky eyes makeup. This is always the "in"fashion makeup irregardless of what country you from or which time zone you live in. To my knowledge, this smoky makeup has been real popular since at least 10 years ago and nowadays there are still people putting it on for various occasions and under different color types.


Smoky eye shadow makeup tips are to keep the makeup real neat and tidy. Make sure excess eyeshadow don't fall under your eye areas. Always use a makeup brush to dust away the excess rather than using the tissue to dust away the excess. Don't rush through the whole makeup application. Natural Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup has been popular nowadays because we are concerned over the types of ingredients that the manufacturer had chosen on their cosmetics which we in turn apply on our face.

Mineral makeup is supposed to be have the purest ingredients on earth. It is normally non-artificial and absolutely free from talc, perfume, alcohol or chemicals. They are non- comodegenic. :) Suitable for any types of skins especially those with oily and sensitive skin. It's easy to apply and remove too. Sometimes, you may find mineral face makeup can be so mild and gentle that they gave minimum coverage.

Personally, I find the mineral makeup products natural and they are extremely safe to use. Because of the natural ingredients that these mineral makeup had, they are suitable to be worn everyday for very long hours and are non clogging or hurting for my pores. Guess what, I've even sleep with it on even though it is definitely a "no no" practise that we should always adhere to on unhygiene and cleanliness.

There are a wide range of mineral makeup for skin care products like face powder, mineral eyeshadow, mineral makeup brushes, mineral blusher & etc. Even though in Singapore, there are not many unique speciality stores targeting natural mineral makeup products but you can still find them at following stores: SaSa, The Faceshop, Guardian, Bodyshop, JohnLittle & etc.

Some brands that is worth trying are: Avon, Maybelline, Legere, Relvon and more expensive ones from Estee Lauder.

Makeup to get rid acne blemishes

Acne redness can be tricky when you need to apply your makeup to cover those acne. It is important to ensure good coverage on them. There are two main thing you need to take note. Firstly, will be your choice of concealer. The color. Next, is how you apply your cosmetics concealer makeup.

Color for concealer has to be light but you should not choose too light color. Try to go for one shade lighter than your skin tone. Too light color will not necessary cover acne or your pimples skin. Instead this can highlight your acne blemishes making it more obvious. Always apply concealer before your foundation for eye area and it can be before and after foundation on face but has to be before applying your face powder.

Don't ever rub your concealer when you apply it. Use the dabbing method. Use a concealer brush to apply small amount onto the area that you like to cover acne or blemishes. Use your forth or last finger to even the concealer. Apply dab mode and use your strength gently. Please follow this rule otherwise you will end up losing your concealer over the foundation.

The aim here is to lighten the acne redness and cover acne but not to get rid of the acne or to remove them.

Ways to get rid pimple skin

What a disappointment! Chinese new year is around the corner and there are new breakouts on my face. Know why? I've got super oily face that causes excess sebrum and this makes my skin extremely prone to acne. :(

It has affected my mood a little not to say in serious case can affect the confidence and the self esteem of a person.

I've a couple of good acne remedies to get rid acne or to minimise them. Most of these methods works to dry acne and heal acne fast. I'm sure you will not get any pimple skin of few pimples in no time.

1- Go to a recognised dermatolgoist. It's the best and fastest approach. Try AHA/ BHA peels or acne cream prescribed by doctor. In serious case, you may need to take antibotics or oral medication. This helps to reduce oil production and helps to dry up your acne faster. It's aproven method on me.

2- Go to a reputable beauty salon. They give good facial treatment and advise. Some play smoothen music to calm you. This helps a little to destress.

3- Your attitue, actions and thinking are important. Always remember to stay in good mood. Stress can generate oil and creat inflammation that leads to breakouts. Try talking to a good friend. Sometimes, listening to music or going for exercise helps. Have sufficient rest of at least 6 hours a day. Take a warm shower, that helps you to relax too.

4- Always keep to a balanced diet. Take lots of water, fruits and vegetables. Vitamin A, C and E are great antioxidant. Take collagen pills or drinks to improve the elastin on skin. Rose tea is worth trying too.

Any difficulties plucking your eyebrows? It is always important to have a pair of good eyebrow shaping because "browns" can affect a person's fengshui and it does plays an important role in your entire makeup and helps to bring up your looks. Image a nice lady with excellent complexion and nice features but have no or light tinted eyebrows or thick/ messy or hairy browns. What a turn off!!!

Always seek professional help if you have problems on your eyebrow shaping. After that, you can try to maintain the looks from there. If you are good enough, you may also get those eyebrow templates and shape it yourself.

Do do so, you need to have a pair of good eyebrow tweezers. Manicare slat tweezers is a good choice and an economical one. It cost about less than S$8.00 and it is widely available in major pharmacies, shopping or heartlands malls.

This tweezers is easy to hold and it has pretty good hand grip. The slated tip allows you to pluck away very thin and fine hair.

The gold plated tip makes it long lasting and the stainless body allows the tweezers to be kept free from rust for many years. Simply wash it with warm water and some soap. Dry it well and store it in an airy place.

To prevent pain during plucking, you can try to do it after a hot shower as this helps to open the pores a little and makes the job much easier. Remember always pluck your hair in the direction of the air growth.

My Rescue on Pore Reduce Concealer Cream

I'm deviating a little on eyeshadow makeup tips.

I like to comment on the challenges of concealing my large facial pores instead. This can be annoying especially when applying makeup because skin with large pores tends to churn out oil faster and being in Singapore (such hot weather), it tends to make your entire makeup to appear"dirty" and sweaty in no time after applying your powder or foundation.

I've extremely large nose pores. Very rough surface. One good way is to perform a good concealer makeup. Choose a oil free pore concealer cream then apply your powder or foundation.
Though i've tried Mac, Ettusais and Clinique but I would strongly recommend you to choose Legere from Korea. This is my all time favourite since it has never give me any breakout problems before. The texture of this cream is smooth and non-sticky. It's transparent and suitable for all skin types. It works very well when apply on my T-zone like nose area. It long lasting and stays on under your face powder or foundation. This pore concealer smoothen your skin texture and it is effective to control excess oil or sebum production on my acne prone oily skin type.

Eye Bag Remedies

Some of us may be troubled with the eye bags, dark eye rings or even eye puffiness which is difficult to conceal. Age, stress, inappropriate cleaning or diet can may the main causes for it.

There are a couple of ways you can get rid of it or reduce them. Consider the following methods to see if it work. Try them in your eye care routine or before your eye makeup applications.

1- Try a plastic surgery for your eye bag removal. Nowadays there are laser surgery available. Get a reputable doctor and seek a professional advise. There is no scars and blood in this procedure. Down time is less than 3 days as there may be slight bruises or swell.

2- Use tea bag over your eyes. This is one kind of DIY method. Cheap and Good. Caffeine in tea helps to reduce eye puffyness. Black, green and white tea can be used. Recycled them after you drink ir. It's environmental friendly too. :) Do try to put them on for at least 15min and then rinse it out.

3- Change your cleaning habits. Always watch out your strength and be gentle when you remove your eye makeup. The eyes skin is extremely soft and thin hence be gentle and light. Do not pull it hard. This reduces eye lines or wrinkles.

4- Cucumber may be good to reduce dark and eyes puffness. Leave them on 10-15min. Remove them and it wash off. It is fresh and cooling.

5- Use eye cream that are cater for eye bag. These are highly recommended by me.

Face and Eyes Makeup for Office Wear

Weather in Singapore is getting hot again after the December monsoon period. That means, it is the time for us to remember to keep our makeup "fresh" and oil-free. Blot access oil to eliminate face "shine". Don't take it for granted that by staying indoor you can skip the steps for skin care like moisturiser or sunblock.

Never leave home without the sunblock especially Singapore is situated at the equator. We are exposed to tons of UV rays each day. It is best recommended to choose oil free moisturizer and sunblock. You can't missed the moisturiser since most of us likes to stay under air-conditioned room and it tends to dry our skin a little bit.

For OL- light makeup should always be presentable and professional. Apply eyes shadow makeup with pastel colors or light colors like brown, pearl, pink or white. The eye tips are always to remember putting on eyeliner and mascara. Choose dark brown and black colors. This is the safest classic choice.

For younger girls, you can pink or light orange color blusher to create the rosy and healthy look.

Light lip makeup color. Choose light brown or pinkish tone. Remember to put on slight foundation, BB cream or color toned moisturer. Put on loose powder to set your makeup. This helps to keep your makeup last longer.

For ladies around 30-40, distintively you can put on heavier lip color such as dark plum or red tone.

For more matured ladies, try go for something lighter for office. Check out this one; See slight blusher and moderate color tone for lip makeup.
